Scheyden FG C-130 Sunglasses

Aug 10, 2023

Scheyden sunglasses are manufactured in Japan, in a little village by the name of Fukui. The time is well-known for its craftsmen who turn out exceptional sunglasses.

Scheyden then decided to use superior materials in order to create aviator-style sunglasses that would be lightweight, extremely strong, and fitted with mineral glass distortion-free lenses with exceptional visual optical properties.

One of our favorite models is the Scheyden C-130 sunglasses, popular with pilots and outdoor enthusiasts.

Many, like commercial airline pilot John Hicks, have found these pilot sunglasses to have a great fit, comfort, and clarity beyond any others worn in a cockpit.

Bronze lenses are great for cutting through the haze, and neutral gray lenses are great for everyday conditions.

Some pilots wear hats, helmets, or headsets, and most sunglasses put pressure on the ears when worn with these headwear.

The Frame

The frame is hand-crafted from ultra-light, durable titanium.

The frame is fitted with slim temples which fit comfortably under a headset, hat, or helmet, and can be taken on and off with ease.

The titanium does not interact with skin sweat or oils, thus preventing the temples from becoming ugly from interacting with your skin.

The temples are attached through a hinge for superior fit and stability.

The Lenses

The C-130 pilot sunglasses are fitted with either mineral glass lenses or for those requiring a prescription, CR-39 plastic lenses.

Mineral glass lenses provide exceptional visual performance no matter whether you are on terra firma, or cruising at 36,000 feet.

They are lightweight, distortion-free, and provided unparalleled visual acuity.

Until next time, keep your eyes safe and focused on what's ahead of you, Hersch!
