How To Measure Pupillary Distance

How to measure for pupillary distance (PD).

Often, when you receive your prescription from your eye doctor they omit or don't include the Pupillry Distance measurement.

This measurement is important in making sure that your prescription works well with your eyes, in particular, if you want progressive lenses.

So, what do you do if that measurement is missing from your prescription?

Fortunately, this is an easy problem to solve, and you don't even need to go back and see your eye doctor.

Simply grab a ruler with a millimeter scale on it, hold it up to your eyes while you look in a mirror, and measure the distance between the center of your left eye to the center of your right eye. 

How to measure your pupillary distance.

If someone is available to help you, that is even better. They can hold the ruler up and measure the distance between the center of your pupils with a bit more accuracy. 

Once you have the distance between the centers of your left and right eyes, write it down and send it to us.

Another thing you should do is make sure that your eyes are centered on your face. To do that, check and see where the midpoint between your eyes is, and make sure that it is exactly halfway between your two eyes.

If it isn't, provide that number as well to us as well.
